Elena's birthday+FF distant worlds concert!!!

OH MY GOD
I went to watch Final Fantasy Distant Worlds on Friday.
AND IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME IN THE MOST AWESOME-MEST SENSE OMG WTBICANTBELIEVEIT!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! *hyperventilate*
Oh man, no regrets for the $30 I paid for it...totally no regrets. *tears of bliss*

LOL, cos it was also Elena's birthday on Friday, I met up with Jas and the birthday girl to have early dinner at Breeks! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ELENAAAAAAA~
Hehe, hoped she liked my gift. Now for the pics....and to introduce my friends

Elena+her Chicken Chop (I think)

Jas+her Fish and Chips! The fish fillet was super long O.O

And my Mushroom Spaghetti. Ok, it looks like crap here, but its actually pretty good!

And....

me+my short hair. WHOA, DA BIG REVEAL!! Figured out that it'll be stupid to put a smiley face over every photo with me inside it =.= So, go on, laugh if you must D:

Yup, and these are the weird people I hang out with :D

Oh yes, dinner was Elena's treat! Apparently this is what people do when they have birthdays in Indonesia O.O Kinda guilty when its her birthday but she's treating us....THANKS LOADS!!!

Headed off to the Esplanade to catch the concert after that (lol, this is like what, the first real concert I've been to at the Esplanade? And no, Hi 5's performance that I went to a few years ago doesn't count....though the lighting effects were pretty @.@) We were seated at the highest level (3rd floor I think). Its funny cos our seats are supposed to be one of the cheapest, but they reminded me of those wealthy people with their own private boxes at the upper levels. O.o

The hall was super beautiful! These pics were all I could take of the hall until they told me that photography isn't allowed. Oh well.

Lol, the two of them~

The concert began with Liberi Fatali with the choir (from Victoria Chorale and The Vocal Consort). The choir and orchestra (The Singapore Festival Orchestra) combination was amazing!! Seriously had goosebumps all the way. Then after that song, the conducter introduced the composer of the music in the FF series...NOBUO UEMATSU!! It was totally hilarious that some die hard FF fanboy screamed his name before the conducter introduced the composer ("UEMATSU SENSEIIIIIII!!!). Everyone was clapping like mad when he appeared lo, such a surprise!! Haha, and he looks totally cute. Reminds me of the monopoly uncle O.o

Yup, the other songs in the performance include: To Zanarkard(the one song of FF that I actally listened to before. Their performance was heartbreaking.), Don't be afraid, Aerith's theme, Medley 2002, Dear friends, Vamo' alla flamenco, Ronfaure, FF main theme, Bombing mission, Fisherman's horizon, Distant worlds, Theme of love, Swing de chocobo (lol, a very fun song with a jazzy feel. Loved the trapset player's beats...his name is Tama Goh=egg in japanese. COOL!), Love grows, Maria and Draco.

The orchestra plays while a clip is shown on the screen. Seriously, I'm not a big fan of FF and their animation...I mean most of it doesn't look awesome to me =.= But I liked the stuff from FF III and VII...worth checking it out!

Then we had 2 encores. The first one was Terra's theme, and the other one, One winged angel. LOL, at the 2nd encore, Uematsu san was invited up and he spoke a few words and thanked everyone in the audience. And I swear, HE LOOKED AT ME!! OMGOMGOMG!! Elena said that he was actually looking at her, but I think she's giddy from all the excitement and clapping to realise the facts. Then we had a poll and decided on two new songs to be included in the distant world's tour(everyone screamed their hearts out at their favourite choice), and he even joined the choir to sing One winged angel, lol!! He's super cute lah, even bobbed to the rhythm!!

Oh yes, and I think 90% of the audience are made up of fans of the FF series. Screaming, shouting, clapping, fangirl/fanboying when they're supposed to (i.e. whenever Uematsu appeared/was mentioned and at the end of each song). I just clapped really really hard all the way till my hands feel sore. =.= But it was really great because everyone was so enthu+high, and just having a good time. FREAKING AMAZINGGGGGG!!!

Had a post show dialouge with the conductor and composer after the concert. Lol, pretty cool to know more about people who make great music! To Joe Hisaishi: PLEASE COME TO SINGAPORE!!!

Oooo, and I bought the FF artbook (wanted the CD actually but it was sold out)! Ugh, cost me $40 and its really thin. Basically just shows a little description of each FF series, and some pictures of each one of them. Abit disappointed cos I thought there would be more stuff included ($40 LEH!) but I guess its just something to keep from my first REAL concert :D

Us with our merchandise!! Eh, Marcus, where's your FF shirt?

I wanted to let Uematsu san autograph the book too! Too bad the queue was too long (heard its in a U shape O.O), so we didn't go in the end. D:

GAHHH! Too...many...people...*strangled voice*

A better view.

YAY!!! Its blurry but its ok! Thanks to Jas for fighting the crowd to take this picture for me! :D

Hanged around at McDonald's for a snack after the concert. Lol, talked about anime/manga the whole time we were there (Gintama nice meh!?)!

Marcus, Kenneth, Valerie, me and Elena!
Lol, Kenneth is Valerie's friend who cosplays. WHOA! But a very nice guy who gets along with everyone. Guess its because we're all into manga/anime!? Oh oh oh! Almost forgot. TO FONNA: HE LIKES KANDA TOO, OMG! Seriously dunno whats up with people and their love for straight fringes nowadays =.=

Caught the last train home at 11.50pm O.O Luckily Kenneth reminded us, and we half ran to the mrt station to catch our trains. If we were 5 mins later, I wouldn't be able to go home already. My first last train!!

The programme booklet, ticket and art book!

My ticket! Heheheheheh~

A super big THANK YOU to Jas for getting us the tickets! Membership=being almighty is what I've learnt from her. I'll never forget the FF music greatness T.T

It's weird that I even went to the concert in the first place cos I don't play the game, don't listen to the music (maybe only 1 or 2), and I only watched the FF VII movie once when Kaz brought it to school. But the performance that day was superb, and I really liked the music arrangement for distant worlds(even when most of the songs I only heard for the first time). Sigh, I dunno if my description of the concert even did it justice....its just something that you need to be there to know how FREAKING GREAT it is :D

Ok, now I want a chocobo O.O
